Minnesota Association of Innkeepers Press Release:
Pehrson Lodge Resort on Lake Vermilion in Cook MN was awarded the Minnesota Association of Innkeepers Property of the Year award in the category of 1-35 units in their annual convention on January 26 in Breezy Point MN.
Eric and Mary Hanson, owner/operators, purchased Pehrson Lodge in 1997. Their goal has been to maintain the classic Minnesota resort atmosphere while steadily upgrading accommodations, equipment and activities. 21 of 26 cabins have been built or significantly upgraded in the past several years. All this has been accomplished while maintaining a sense of history and tradition to keep guests happy and coming back for years, as they have since the first guests arrived via steamboat in 1902. The historic lodge and homey individual cabins provide the soothing atmosphere of a century-old resort while beautiful new or remodeled cabins keep the most discerning guests comfortable. The Lodge property itself is very unique. 2000ft. of lakeshore and 76 acres give the resort a spacious feel even when all of the cabins are occupied. The natural sand beach is beautiful and one of very few on the Lake. It is little wonder the Hanson's have chosen Pehrson Lodge to raise their three children.
Lake Vermilion is one of a few truly spectacular lakes in the Midwest. 40,000 acres, 365 islands and countless bays and peninsulas make every bit of shoreline unique. Fishermen, sailors, kayakers, water skiers and hikers can all find a place to call their own.
